Shaggylamb Old English Sheepdogs
This website is a show case for our dogs. We do not sell dogs from this website and do not encourage anyone to purchase a dog from a website OR THE INTERNET. A website is a good way to learn about a breeder, their dogs and their accomplishments. However, don't be fooled. Anything can be flowered up for a website. If you can't visit the breeder, find someone you trust to do a home visit. DON'T give anyone money for a puppy that is yet to be born. Think about it, would you do that for anything else. Buying a dog is sometimes an emotional decision, some breeders are aware of this and take advantage. Some unethical breeders will tell you that's how it's done. It is not. Some breeders require a deposit, after the puppies are born, this is perfectly normal. But to ask for full payment on a puppy that is yet to be born. This is highly suspect. And MOST OF ALL DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY that is under 8 weeks of age. Any breeder that would sell a puppy at that age, certainly does not have the best interest of the breed or especially the dog at heart. Think about it, that puppy was JUST weaned. The Old English Sheepdog Club of America's code of ethics prohibits selling puppies before 8 weeks of age. We don't have many litters at all, we don't believe in breeding just for breeding's sake. We have a breeding program that is guided by preserving and improving the breed with the best interest of the Old English Sheepdog foremost in our minds. We would suggest the following for you to consider. Visit the Old English sheepdog Club of America's website. Read the Code of Ethics. All breeder's by a board decision MUST sign the code of ethics before they will receive any referral. The website also has rescue information and contacts. The Old English Sheepdog is a wonderful breed. It is NOT the breed for everyone. They are fun loving beings that require allot of work. They are energetic and happy. A good Old English Sheepdog in full coat is one of the most beautiful sites. A matted dirty, OES is heartbreaking. Please if you choose to get this breed, be aware of the work involved in the upkeep and care. Talk to a groomer, visit dog shows, do your homework. They don't look like the dog in the picture without many hours of grooming. Our first litter was born on May 23, 1980. From that litter came Ch. Shaggylamb's Bagel ROM. He was our first champion from our first litter. Bagel only produced forty four puppies, with ten champions and two register of merit producers. With those few puppies, Bagel figures behind some of today's top kennels.Bagel's daughter Ch. Shaggylamb I'm a Ten ROM only produced ten puppies. Of those ten, four finished their championships. Her son Ch. Shaggylamb Stutz Bear Cat ROM, owned by Vinita Smith of Warwyck OES, has proven himself to be an outstanding producer. He is the sire of Ch. Warwyck Maximum Pleasure ROM BIS, Ch. Warwyck Pickwick Fine Win ROM, Ch. Wullyweathers Just Fur Us ROM, Wullyweather Fur Sailn' On ROM and the grand sire of both RWD and RWB at the 1993 Old English Sheepdog Club of America's National Specialty in Portland, Oregon.A daughter of Ch. Shaggylamb I'm a Ten ROM (Natalie) is, to date, the only registered white Champion Old English. Natalie is the dam of Shaggylamb Color Me Bad (Jenna), Old English Sheepdog Club of America's Best in Sweepstakes winner. America's top producing bitch for 1994, Ch. Loehr's Star of the Show, is a granddaughter of our Ch. Shaggylamb Nick Nack Paddy Wak. Nick is a brother to Ch. Shaggylamb's I'm a Ten ROM. There were only two puppies in the litter that produced both Nick and Bo.
